Every winter, my family spends a weekend in Aïn Draham. It is a small town in the mountains, between Jendouba and Tabarka. There are big green forests and the fresh air smells of trees.
This year, it was snowy! In the morning, I put on my warm sweater, two pairs of socks, my boots, my gloves and my scarf. My brother and I made a big snowman with a carrot nose. Then we went sledging down the hill on a plastic bag. We laughed a lot!
In the evening, we sat near the fireplace and drank hot chocolate. Grandma told us stories.
My cousin Ahmed lives in Canada. In winter, he goes skiing and skating. I would love to try one day. But for me, making snowmen in Aïn Draham is the best winter fun!

🧩 Grammar القواعد
Verb + ing = activity. We add -ing to a verb to name an activity: ski ➡️ skiing, sledge ➡️ sledging, read ➡️ reading.
Spelling: verb ending in -e: drop the e: skate ➡️ skating, ride ➡️ riding. One vowel + one consonant: double: swim ➡️ swimming, run ➡️ running.
We use these words after go, like, love, enjoy: He goes skiing. I love skating.
Between = in the middle of two things: Aïn Draham is between Jendouba and Tabarka.
نضيف ing إلى الفعل لنسمّي نشاطًا: ski ➡️ skiing. إذا انتهى الفعل بحرف e نحذفه: skate ➡️ skating. ونضاعف الحرف الأخير في مثل swim ➡️ swimming. between تعني: بين شيئين.
